Apigenin can reduce the level of blood lipid, improve hyperlipidemia, and prevent atherosclerosis in hyperlipidemia rats. The molecular mechanism may be related to inhibiting LOX-1 gene expression and increasing the Bcl-2/Bax ratio.Social media are digitalizing massive amounts of users' cognitions in terms of timelines and emotional content. Such Big Data opens unprecedented opportunities for investigating cognitive phenomena like perception, personality, and information diffusion but requires suitable interpretable frameworks. Since social media data come from users' minds, worthy candidates for this challenge are cognitive networks, models of cognition giving structure to mental conceptual associations. This work outlines how cognitive network science can open new, quantitative ways for understanding cognition through online media like (i) reconstructing how users semantically and emotionally frame events with contextual knowledge unavailable to machine learning, (ii) investigating conceptual salience/prominence through knowledge structure in social discourse; (iii) studying users' personality traits like openness-to-experience, curiosity, and creativity through language in posts; (iv) bridging cognitive/emotional content and social dynamics via multilayer networks comparing the mindsets of influencers and followers. These advancements combine cognitive-, network- and computer science to understand cognitive mechanisms in both digital and real-world settings but come with limitations concerning representativeness, individual variability, and data integration. Such aspects are discussed along with the ethical implications of manipulating sociocognitive data. In the future, reading cognitions through networks and social media can expose cognitive biases amplified by online platforms and relevantly inform policy-making, education, and markets about complex cognitive trends.Insulin resistance (IR) plays an important role in the development of hypertension. Triglyceride and glucose index (TyG index), and triglyceride to high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio (TG/HDL-c) as effective IR surrogate indexes have been verified in numerous studies. Therefore, the authors conducted a large cross-sectional study to explore the association of TyG index and TG/HDL-c with prehypertension and hypertension in the same normoglycemic subjects from Tianjin, China. A total of 32 124 adults were eligible for this study. According to the level of blood pressure, the enrolled individuals were divided into three groups, which were normotension, prehypertension, and hypertension. In multiple logistic regression analysis, there was associated with prehypertension and hypertension when comparing the highest TyG index to the lowest TyG index and corresponding ORs were 1.795 (1.638, 1.968) and 2.439 (2.205, 2.698), respectively. For TG/HDL-c, the corresponding ORs were 1.514 (1.382, 1.658) and 1.934 (1.751, 2.137), respectively. Furthermore, when comparing the fourth quartile to the first quartile of TyG index and TG/HDL-c, respectively, both corresponding ORs of hypertension were higher than prehypertension. Elevated TyG index and TG/HDL-c levels were associated with prehypertension and hypertension in normoglycemic individuals. Moreover, the TyG index was more significant than TG/HDL-c in distinguishing hypertension. They have the potential to become cost-effective monitors in the hierarchical management of prehypertension and hypertension.COVID-19 infection, affecting every one of us from the last year. Emerging reports have indicated thromboembolism in serious cases of COVID-19. The aspirin is useful to reduce mortality of serious patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome without COVID-19. Thus, we have conducted a metanalysis to find out the role of aspirin in the mortality of COVID-19 patients using RevMan 5. A total of 10 studies containing 56 696 COVID-19 patients were found appropriate for quantitative analysis. The quality of articles was assessed using Newcastle-Ottawa scale. The fixed-effect model was used to calculate the odds ratio with 95% confidence interval (CI). The odd ratio was found to be 0.70 [0.63, 0.77] which indicates a lesser likelihood of having death in COVID-19 patients in aspirin group as compared with non-aspirin group. However, no effect 0.00 [-0.04, 0.04] was observed after the exclusion of outliers. Thus, further clinical evidence is required to make valid conclusion. This study was conducted to evaluate peer bullying, internet addiction, and psychological adaptation capabilities of students in the 9-15 age group.
The study was performed as cross-sectional-descriptive research with 880 students included in the research sample.
One-fourth of the students in the 9-15 age group suffered from psychological adaptation issues, one-fifth suffered from bullying issues, and 16.5% suffered from internet addiction.
There is a need for early determination in risky age groups, a collaboration between parents and teachers in schools, and extended social studies on the prevention of peer bullying and internet addiction.

We used cysteine-specific isotopic coded affinity tags (OxICAT) and gel-free mass spectrometry analysis to investigate the cysteine Ox-PTMs profile in the proteome of both plantaris (glycolytic) and soleus (oxidative) muscles in tumor-bearing and control rats. Histological analysis revealed muscle atrophy in type II fibers in plantaris muscle, with no changes in plantaris type I fibers and no differences in both soleus type I and II fibers in tumor-bearing rats when compared to healthy controls. Tumor progression altered the Ox-PTMs profile in both plantaris and soleus. https://www.selleckchem.com/products/protoporphyrin-ix.html However, pathway analysis including the differentially oxidized proteins revealed tricarboxylic acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation as main affected pathways in plantaris muscle from tumor-bearing rats, while the same analysis did not show main metabolic pathways affected in the soleus muscle.
